Welcoming Quinault | Born at Home | {Seattle Birth Videographer}

I am pretty darn excited to share this beautiful family's homebirth experience through photography and film. One thought that continues to overwhelm me when reflecting on the day they welcomed Quinault earthside is how thick the presence of love was. The phrase love bursting at the seams kept repeating itself in my mind. You will see so yourself when watching this!

Another thought I have been brewing on for awhile is how to convey the importance of documenting such an intimate experience such as birth. I have seen and experienced the power of photographs and film for healing. I personally love watching women look back and reflect on their own labor experience and how a different perspective takes them to places like kindness and strength. Again, perspective...much needed and incredible if we allow it. With that being said, if you or know someone interested in birth videography/photography, I would love to chat over coffee about this opportunity :)

Okay okay, enough words..let's let the photos and film speak for themselves. Thank you to this family who graciously wants to share this film with you all.

Welcome Amelia {Tacoma Birth Photographer}

strength. power. beauty.
It is a phenomenon to me. The concept of introspection or more so how one sees & feels an experience and then how others see & feel the same experience. I see moms describe themselves (mostly in the intensity of labor) as weak or incapable but when in fact everyone else around them sees them as strong and beautiful. This birth in particular brings me to my knees each time I think of these moments and watching the partnership & dance of this couple bringing this beautiful baby girl into the world.

Because Dads Matter

I am overwhelmed when I think about the impact a dad may or may not have in the life of a child. I am grateful for every dad that has not only chosen to be a dad but lives this out intentionally. I hope these photographs are a reminder that dads matter! With Father's Day approaching, I would like to offer a special for the month of June in honor of dads. Consider giving a dad the opportunity to capture moments with their kids. Contact me for more details!

Welcoming Baby Enoch {Tacoma Birth Photographer}

Words are not always sufficient in describing what we see. Fortunately it is in these moments I am grateful for this gift of capturing them in a still shot so that they can be shared with others. I am often humbled by the moms I feel fortunate to interact with. This mom in particular has shown me strength and love. Not so much in what she does but how she holds herself. I know without a doubt the love for her children runs deep. Welcome Enoch! We have been waiting for you and now you can feel the embrace of your loving family.

Bass Family {Tacoma Family Photographer}

But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.
Give her the product of her hands,
And let her works praise her in the gates.
